What Canuck Place Children's Hospice is Saying About Easel Aid...

Because of Easel Aid supporters who either host an Easel Auction or bid on items being auctioned, children at Canuck Place have the opportunity to experience special moments with their families.

Most of us cannot imagine what it would be like to care for a child with a life-threatening illness. For families in BC who are facing this ordeal, Canuck Place Children’s Hospice is there for them.

Canuck Place Children’s Hospice is our province’s pediatric palliative care provider. With the help of partners like Easel Aid, our goal is to ensure that every newborn, child or teen diagnosed with a progressive life-threatening illness and their family can access our programs. Services are provided at no cost to the family.

In the past year alone, over 715 children and their families from all over BC came to us with complex medical illnesses. Each child and family received an individualized care plan to address their needs and enable them to live full and dignified lives. We provide medical respite and family support, pain and symptom management, 24-hour province-wide phone helpline and inpatient clinical care, art and education, recreation therapy, grief and loss counselling and end-of-life care.

Again, I want to thank you in advance for your support of Canuck Place by hosting an Easel Aid Auction. You are making a huge difference in the lives of the families who come to us. On behalf of everyone at Canuck Place Children’s Hospice, we sincerely thank you for your generosity!
Canuck Place – Vancouver
Glen Brae Manor, is a 16,000 sq ft mansion built in 1910 by Scottish lumber and real estate baron, William Tait. Canuck Place Children’s Hospice refurbished the building which now has four floors. The second floor has nine patient beds and the third floor has four family suites. The building is leased through the City of Vancouver.
Canuck Place - Abbotsford
Canuck Place – Dave Lede – Abbotsford house is our second provincial facility. The design of this purpose built facility kept the warm, family environment that has been welcoming children and their families to Canuck Place in Vancouver.

The house is located on a 1.5 acre site adjacent to Abbotsford Regional Hospital and Cancer Centre, and will form part of a Campus of Care with the Abbotsford Hospice Society’s Holmberg House (an adult hospice) and Matthew’s House (a respite home for children with complex health care needs) operated by Communitas Supportive Care Society.
